Hello all. Hooray! We have at last been able to move back to the newly refurbished Mapledurham Pavilion so we have more room for welcoming you and your little people. We are still limiting numbers to allow for social distancing so booking is essential.
We will be unable to provide snack for the Children so we ask you to bring a piece of fruit, a small plain biscuit and your child's own water bottle. We will continue to provide Tea and Coffee for the parents and carers.
Escape is a toddler group for babies and pre-school children and their caregivers (including mums, dads, grandparents and childminders). We have members from Caversham, Mapledurham and neighbouring parts of Reading and Oxfordshire, some of whom attend regularly while others come only once or twice a term.
We meet on Monday and Thursday mornings during Term Time at Mapledurham Pavilion Upper Woodcote Road Caversham Reading RG4 7LB (click here for how to find us). Sessions will run from 10:00 until 11:30 but pre-booking is essential for the foreseeable future. To aid us with administration we are also requesting that you book for the term and make payment via internet banking. Due to the current (very long!) waiting list and the restriction on numbers, we would ask that you select a Monday OR a Thursday, not both,
Dates for the current term can be found on the Calendar.
At each session we provide a baby area (including feeding and changing facilities) and various types of activities for older children including art / craft, construction, messy play, pretend play etc. A snack is provided for children and adults*, followed by an active play session and ending with songs. See What Happens for more information. *please see above for interim arrangements
The charge is £2.50 per session for the first child and adult. Subsequent children are 50p per child per session after their 1st birthday. Currently we are unable to accept cash so we ask that payment is made by bank transfer either weekly or for the term, whichever suits, quoting your name as reference. We occasionally organise extra activities (e.g. a bouncy castle at a party) for which there may be an additional charge. Adults are asked to help out by volunteering for a small job when they attend a session (e.g. setting out toys, wiping down tables, washing up).
