A baby area is provided with soft mats, bouncy chairs and baby toys. Nappy changing and bottle warming facilities are available.
Activities for older children vary each week but usually include:
Creative play e.g. painting, sticking. This encourages hand-eye coordination and fine motor skill development.
Messy play e.g. sand, water. - NOT CURRENTLY
Pretend play e.g. home corner, dressing up. This encourages interaction between children and broadens experience through role-play.
Quiet play e.g. book corner, puzzles. These can provide an opportunity for a quiet moment with your child.
Other toys such as construction, transport which can help develop colour recognition, number and shape awareness, fine motor skills etc.
Active play equipment includes balls and hoops, slides and seesaws, balance beams. These provide a more physical challenge, helping develop coordination, motor skills and balance, as well as
giving an outlet for energy!
If weather permits we may use the space outside the hall for messy play or active play sessions.
